 No Dental Insurance? No Problem

Many people have this misconception if you don’t have dental insurance you can’t afford to go to the dentist, however, this ideal couldn’t be further from the truth. Dentistry isn’t expensive- neglect is. Yes, having dental insurance can help offset major procedures, however, that is not an excuse for letting your dental health deteriorate. If you’re still skeptical, here are four more reasons that you need to get into the dentist even if you don’t have health insurance.

The Longer You Wait, The Worse it Will Get: Putting off going to the dentist is not only a bad idea for your mental health, it will end up costing you more money because the problems will get bigger and bigger. For example, if you lose a tooth and decide not to have the missing tooth replaced, there’s a very good chance that over time the rest of the surrounding teeth will shift and cause more pain and the bone of the jawline will start to deteriorate causing more issues. So in the long run, it will end up costing you much more money to have all these issues corrected than if you would have visited the dentist right away when the problem started.

Regular Check-ups & Preventative Measures Help: A basic check-up or cleaning can do wonders for your basic dental health, and putting off a cleaning for an extended period of time can be detrimental to your teeth and gums. Even if you don’t have insurance, a regular cleaning every six months is very affordable and will be a great way to help protect against dental health decay.

Additionally, at your regular dental cleanings, talk to your dentist and get ideas of different ways to effectively protect your teeth from dental decay at home. You can also follow our blog, or Facebook or Twitter as we send out very helpful tips on dental health. All good dentists are firm believers in preventing dental problems before they even happen.

Dentists Are Affordable Even Without Insurance: There is a stigma surrounding the dentist that every time you visit it will cost you an arm and a leg if you don’t have insurance. On the contrary, basic checkups and many basic procedures are still affordable without dental insurance. Unless you need total jaw and dental construction, there’s a good chance you will be able to afford the require procedures to keep your smile beautiful.

Your Dentist May Have Specials: Many good dentists understand that many people do not have health insurance and have setup specific programs to help assist these patients in payment. Check out our page that explains our Dental Membership Plan
